Rob’s career started in academia as a neuroscientist developing breakthrough therapies for inherited blindness. After achieving early success in translating these treatments from laboratory to patient, he transitioned to the NHS where he gained invaluable hands-on experience leading complex neurology clinical studies.
Building on this foundation, Rob spent over a decade leading global clinical programmes for industry leaders including Johnson & Johnson, Stryker, QIAGEN, and Smith+Nephew. His expertise spans the complete product lifecycle, having successfully brought dozens of devices and diagnostics from concept through regulatory approval to market launch.
Prior to founding Franklyn Health, Rob established a successful clinical consultancy, working directly with medtech innovators. This experience revealed a clear gap: small and midsize manufacturers needed a CRO partner who truly understood their unique challenges.
Rob founded Franklyn Health to bridge this gap, assembling a world-class team of clinical and regulatory experts—professionals he has worked with for years across multiple successful programmes. Together, they deliver partnership-driven clinical research that transforms medtech innovation into patient impact.
