Michael Branagan-Harris

Michael began his career as a Royal Air Force paramedic, developing a strong foundation in patient care and operational excellence. He entered the HealthTech sector in 1989 and went on to hold senior commercial leadership roles across the UK and Asia Pacific.
He later became Managing Director of VNUS Medical Technologies UK, where he led the introduction of the VNUS Closure® system. Through a value-based commercial strategy, he helped transform the treatment of varicose vein disease, driving significant clinical adoption and business growth. Under his leadership, the UK business grew to over $5M and was subsequently acquired by Covidien as part of a $500M global transaction.
Following the acquisition, Michael served as European Director of Market Access & Reimbursement at Covidien before founding Device Access UK in 2010. Over the next 14 years, he built the company into a leading advisory firm, supporting more than 58 NICE approvals and contributing to numerous health economic publications for innovative medical technologies. He exited the business in 2024.
Through decades of experience bringing technologies to market, Michael has developed deep expertise in commercial strategy, health economics and stakeholder engagement. His extensive network across the UK and international medtech ecosystem helps innovators align clinical evidence with the commercial and economic realities needed for successful adoption.
